Summary
Over several decades, I’ve worked as a visual artist, theatre director, writer, choreographer, producer, performer, educator, anthropologist, and creative instigator – often in overlapping ways. My practice spans visual art and photography, musical theatre, contemporary and experimental performance, devised and immersive works, arts-for-development initiatives, therapeutic arts programs, choirs, youth development projects, and large-scale multidisciplinary productions.
I’ve founded and directed multiple international arts organisations and training programs – including Purple Dragon Theatre in Montreal and ukuthemba Performing Arts in South Africa – and helped establish community arts and humanitarian projects that bring together professional artists and first-time participants discovering their creative voice. My work has included producing concerts and immersive events, facilitating participatory experiences, and developing arts-based wellbeing programs.
Collaboration is central to my practice. I’ve worked with organisations such as the United Nations, Médecins Sans Frontières, and the World Health Organization, as well as a wide range of grassroots arts and community groups across Australia, Canada, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Greece, China, and beyond.
Along the way, I’ve received the Young Entrepreneur Award in Quebec and multiple awards for directing, performance, choreography, and writing. Yet the through-line remains the same: using art, storytelling, and shared creative process to explore identity, participation, and human connection – often in interdisciplinary forms that blur the boundaries between theatre, installation, gathering, ritual, conversation, and shared experience.

Theatre and Performance
Theatre has always been one of the ways I make sense of the world. I’m interested in performance that is emotionally honest, visually striking, authentically human, and unafraid of contradiction. My work has ranged from large-scale musical theatre and concerts to experimental, immersive, devised, and community-based works that blur the line between audience and participant.
Visual Art and Photography
Alongside my theatre practice, I maintain an evolving visual arts and photography practice exploring identity, memory, embodiment, symbolism, and the emotional textures of ordinary life. I am drawn to imagery that feels lived-in, layered, and quietly revealing – work that asks us to pause, notice, and feel.
My visual work often intersects with my performance practice, moving toward installation, immersive environments, and interdisciplinary forms that combine image, object, story, space, and participation.
Immersive and Participatory Practice
I am deeply interested in what happens when people stop being passive observers and become part of the artwork itself. Therefore, much of my work explores participation, gathering, ritual, conversation, and shared experience. I’m interested in creating spaces where people feel invited to contribute, reflect, connect, and encounter one another differently.
Increasingly, my practice moves toward immersive and interdisciplinary forms that blend theatre, installation, music, visual art, storytelling, and community participation into experiences that are lived rather than simply watched.
Music and Concert Works
Music has always sat at the centre of my artistic world, not simply as entertainment but as a collective experience rooted in shared humanity.
My work in this space has included musical theatre, concert direction, choir leadership, theatrical music events, and interdisciplinary performance works that integrate movement, story, and visual imagery.
I’m particularly interested in concerts that feel immersive, emotionally resonant, and theatrical in nature, experiences that move beyond performance into something shared and transformative.
Arts for Human Development
For decades, my work has existed at the intersection of art, wellbeing, identity, and social change. I believe deeply in the power of creativity to help people reconnect with themselves, one another, and their own sense of possibility.
I have designed and facilitated arts-based programs in humanitarian, educational, mental health, and community development settings across multiple countries and cultures.

My creative life has unfolded across continents, cultures, and communities. From township arts programs in South Africa to humanitarian and educational initiatives linked to international organisations, I have been fortunate to work in spaces where art, culture, identity, and social realities collide in complex and transformative ways.
This work has shaped not only my artistic practice but also my understanding of humanity itself.
Education, Training, and Creative Leadership
Teaching, mentoring, and creative leadership have always been woven through almost every aspect of my career. I am passionate about helping people discover confidence, courage, artistic voice, and deeper ways of engaging with the world.
Over the years, I have founded multiple arts organisations and training programs, developed interdisciplinary curricula and facilitated creative learning experiences for children, youth, and adults across a wide range of cultural and social contexts.
