My writing practice spans theatre, poetry, prose, screenwriting, comedy, devised performance, and experimental forms. Over the years, I have written many stage plays, sketch comedy, sitcom concepts, short films, interdisciplinary performance works, and reflective, narrative, and poetic pieces exploring the complexity of human experience.
I am fascinated by language and storytelling, by the ways words can reveal, conceal, disrupt, comfort, provoke, and connect. My work often moves between humour and heartbreak, absurdity and intimacy, and theatricality and emotional honesty.
Behold the seed
Behold
No
Hold the plant within the seed
before the earth or sun or weed
Encase her
she is fragile, yet strong
Water her roots
show her belong
from roots to shoots
her journey will sing
when her voice is given
the space to take wing
with earth and water, air and light
she slowly unleashes all her might
Within the seed is held the plant
as yet untouched but all to grant
The richness of the earth determines her birth
the water you pour persuades her worth
So drink in her colours
Inhale her force
Then gently release her
but nourish her course
